Since 2011, our small family farm has grown into 4 acres of vegetable, herb, poultry and egg production. The health of the soil relies on a symbiotic relationship with the chickens, turkeys, and crops that share the garden space.
The garden is nurtured using certified organic and ecologically conscious methods (PACS #16-770).
We use environmentally friendly systems such as drip irrigation, composting, green manures & reusable materials. We minimize waste and off farm inputs & use of petro powered machinery. All of our starts are grown plastic free – using soil blocks. We use certified organic seed when available & never use treated or GMO seed. We live simply & off grid.
Bart Bounds, steward of the farm, is joined by his partner, Kate Mechan, and their children Juniper and Fray. Eager friends, staff, and volunteers all help to support the farm and keep it running smoothly.
Our produce can be found at the Fireweed Community Market, purchased through our CSA box program, and is used in several local restaurants in Whitehorse.
